Abhishek Thapar | India
Abhishek Thapar (1985, Moga) is a theatre maker, performer, puppeteer and artist currently based in Amsterdam. He holds a post-graduate diploma in Physical Theatre from LISPA, London and a Master in Theatre degree from DAS Theatre, Amsterdam.
Thapar is one of the founding members of International Association for Performing Arts and Research (IAPAR), International Theatre Institute (ITI, India Centre) and Three-Ring Circus based in Pune.
As a performer and collaborator, he has worked with Hrishikesh Centre of Contemporary Dance (Pune), Mirror-Mirror Theatre Co. (London), Terra Nova Productions (Belfast), Flinntheater (Berlin).
Pedagogically, he has created theatre programs for colleges and universities across India i.e. Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts (SSLA), Foundation for Liberal Arts and Management Education (FLAME), Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM, Bangalore).
Currently, he is building an artistic research and practice in post-colonial epistemologies, historiographic metafiction and storytelling.
