Carine Figueras is a Pune based French artist. She has studied art at the Ecole d´art Jacot in Belfort, at the Visual Art School in Basel and the Conservatoire des Ocres in Roussillon. She had further training Shanghai in supervision of Yan Kang Wen. She had multiple exhibitions in France, amongst others at Salon ART3F Mulhouse and Atelier de la rue sur l’eau. In 2016 she had two team exhibitions: ‘Before I die wall’ and ‘Meilleurs temps exhibition&event‘ in Belfort. Carine attended two residencies in Portugal at Cortex Frontal and Museu da Luz in 2018. Her paintings on canvas, paper and textiles and visual works deal with nature, simplicity and impermanence. She uses natural pigments and environmental material like rocks, sand and plants to explore the relations between mankind and the space we inhabit. Currently one of her focal points lies on calligraphy.
