Vidhya Mohankumar based in Chennai, is an architect

and urban designer with work experience in India, Ireland

and the United States. In 2011, she founded Urban

Design Collective- a collaborative platform for creating

livable cities through participatory planning. Towards

this purpose, various methods that are employed include

urban mapping & research, education & capacity building,

participatory workshops, public & socially engaged art,

publications and public events programming.

Vidhya received a Masters degree in Urban Design from

the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA and Bachelors

in Architecture from the National Institute of Technology,

Tiruchirapalli, India.
